We went pancake crazy in Junior Infants last week for Pancake Tuesday (Shrove Tuesday). The pan-craziness went wild with chocolate spread, marshmallows, sprinkles and lots of other toppings. We gobbled up all of the pancakes before Ash Wednesday marks the start of Lent.

The thinking caps were on this week in Junior Infants as we were doing some serious science investigations. We were predicting whether various objects could be moved using the force of a hairdryer. Like any good scientist, we had to test our predictions to see if we were right. There was plenty of lively discussion and a lot of scientific thinking done. Marie Curie and Isaac Newton would have been very impressed... Nobel Prize in Physics here we come.

Watch out Jamie Oliver, Junior Infants got stuck into the Christmas baking early by getting some delicious cookies in the oven. They turned out to be delicious snowmen that were almost too pretty to eat.
Their cookbook is in the final stages so you'll have to wait until 2026 for the recipe.

Junior Infants read through the 'The Three Little Pigs' recently. We built the three different houses that the pigs lived in.
We are so proud of how our worked turned out.

Maths Week is in full swing in Junior Infants. We spent a lot of time identifying, extending and making patterns with all different items in our classroom. It's great to see them having some much fun with math while working in their teams.

There was major commotion in Junior Infants this morning as we were all making very scary shape monsters. We saw lots of square eyes, circular legs and rectangular teeth. Now once we got to know the monsters, they turned out to be pretty friendly and they have decided to stay with us for a little while.

Our new Junior Infants have settled in very well into the school.
They have been having a lot of fun and got very creative using their Play-Doh to make their own spiders from the nursery rhyme Incy Wincy Spider. They even used pipe cleaners to give their spiders some legs!
