We are so excited to announce that our school now has a 3D printer!!!  This is thanks to generous sponsorship from Decotek.  Ms. McCormack, Mr. Kenny and Ms. Browne undertook 3D printing training in Dublin last June.  The project we are delighted to be associated with is Taiscéalaí - 3D Printing for Primary Schools co-funded by Science Foundation Ireland and the Department of Education.  The project aims to link 3D printing to the Irish Primary Curriculum.  Students in our school will work on project-based learning challenges using our new 3D printer.

Important notice re communicating with  class teachers

Dear Parents,

From now on we are going to be using our ALADDIN system as our main communication platform in relation to messages to and from teachers, including absences, school reports, Parent Teacher meeting times and school activities.

Class Dojo will not be used for communication any more.

It will be used in the classroom by some teachers for other purposes such as positive affirmation. Photos of class activities will be posted regularly on the school website.  We will use the school WhatsApp number to send class messages and other direct messages from the school office.  This is an effort to streamline communications which we hope will prove successful, with your support.  If you need to link up with or update your ALADDIN and need help, please contact Michele at the office.

Big smiles on the first day of the new school year.  We are delighted to welcome our new Junior Infants and welcome back all our other students.  We look forward to a great year ahead.

Congratulations to our girls who won their Cumann na mBunscol final against Clonmellon on Wednesday, 24th May in Cusack Park.

Past Pupil and Milltownpass and Westmeath Footballer Sam Duncan dropped by to wish the girls best of luck for their upcoming final!

Sam spoke to the girls about his memories of winning a Cumann na mBunscol when he was in 5th CLass and told the girls to go and enjoy the occasion as it'll be one to cherish forever more.

We would like to wish Sam himself all the best of luck as he lines out this coming Saturday at midfield in the senior's clash with Armagh in Armagh.

Thanks for taking the time to call by Sam. :)

Buddy Reading is Back!

Our 6th Class boys and girls have been paired up with Junior and Senior Infant children and they have become 'Buddy' Readers.  The children read their books, practise blending and tricky words and have a little chat.  They also become great buddies who look out for each other around the school and at playtime.

Some of our 6th class boys were out with the paint and paint brushes today.  They decided to spruce up our outdoor classroom by giving the toadstools a fresh lick of paint for the summer.  Hopefully we will get nice weather, so all children can enjoy some outdoor learning!
