Thanks to all who came to support the girls - the unified chants of "Gainstown, Gainstown, Gainstown" gave the girls memories that will last lifetime - as did the joyous pitch invasion at the final whistle! 🥳

Olympic Handball Champions! 🤩
On Friday 9th February, 11 of the 6th class girls headed out to Clonkill GAA Club to compete in the county final of the Westmeath Olympic Handball tournament. For their first match the girls played St Tolas 6th class team and beat them by a solid 8-0. For their second match they played St Tolas 5th class team and again beat them 9-0. They played their last group match against St Colmans, and won 5-1! After a long wait and a bit of food they played the final against Ardnagrath. They were very evenly matched! At full time the score was 2-2 but luckily after extra time our girls ended up on top! The final score was 6-2. It was a very enjoyable day for all and we wish the best of luck to Orla, Emily, Claire, Isabelle, Isabelle, Kayla, Ava, Anna, Mary Kate, Ellen and Muireann in the next stages of the competition in Gormanstown for the Leinsters!

Taiscéalaí - 3D Printing for Primary Schools
Taiscéalaí, the Irish word for explorer, seeks to achieve equality of learning and access to 3D printing education at the primary school level. Today, there was a celebration of the fantastic project work completed by the students involved in the programme in the IRM building. We enjoyed the presentations of other projects and a fantastic tour of the labs. We had two winning groups - one for innovation in STEAM and one for most enthusiastic participants. Congratulations to everyone in 3rd and 6th classes who took part!
